The Salzburg Statement for a Multilingual World

avatar Lucy Jenkins

The Salzburg Statement for a multilingual world was released on 21st February 2018.

MFL mentors and the project team had the privilege of participating in the AHRC funded project, Transnationalizing Modern Languages (TML) in November 2017. As part of this project, we were invited to participate in 2 seminar days to discuss policy around languages with colleagues from Universities across the UK and the University of Namibia. Discussions which took place during these 2 days were fed into the Salzburg Global Seminar held in December 2018 by researchers leading the TML project.

You can find the statement by clicking here. The importance of the protection and promotion of languages and multilingualism can not be underestimated.
